Guitar Hero...For Girls [Feb. 17th, 2009|01:43 pm]
jeff
Happy Belated Valentine’s Day Everyone!

Hope you had a weekend full of the truest love and the safest sex. Sorry we’re a little late with your present, but we like to drop the new hotness at the front of the week, and this way if you didn’t get everything you wanted for the most Hallmark of holidays, you get a little something to bring a smile to your face now.

Presenting, ThesePeople’s “Guitar Hero…for Girls.” Though this is our third release of the year, it’s the first thing we actually shot in ’09 and to pull this off we called up some of our best lady friends Kat, Molly, Andrea, and Katy for a ThesePeople sketch almost completely devoid of ThesePeople. Also, I need to give some shout outs to Steve’s hip edgy “MTV-esque” editing and our friend Aaron’s sweet and sultry audio mix.

If you love foxy ladies and music simulation video games, this sketch is for you.

Check it (but don’t wreck it)

On our beloved website:

www.ThesePeopleComedy.com

Or our dear YouTube Page:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neBDEVlTyKo

In other ThesePeople news, keep those button requests pouring in! Some one has to keep the US Postal Service in business, why not us? As we discover where are fans are from we hope to send pins to every state (and country), so if you live in Idaho and are reading this, why not stand up and be counted? You could represent our entire Idaho fan base.

We’ve got a lot more fun to come in the next few weeks, and some serious surprises. Let me be the first to plant a couple of very big seeds. 1.) The long overdue ThesePeople DVD is finally going to happen. B.) ThesePeople…live and on stage? Stay glued to the Interweb for details.

Your pal always,

MaTT and ThesePeople

Wait till you see Potato Buddy! [Nov. 30th, 2008|11:21 pm]

Hey Tatortots,

I know it’s been a little while since you’ve heard from us, but we’ve been very busy cleaning off all the fake blood and picking up all the severed body parts left over from ANOTHER highly successful SHOCKTOBERSKETCH. Also, I was in LA for two weeks.

As is the tradition with ThesePeople the sketch following Shocktobersketch should always be super weird. To that end we’ve decided to release the weirdest thing we’ve done since “Talent Show” (with possibly the exception of “JOLCats.”) PRESENTING “Potato Buddy!” A strange tuber tale starring the newest people in ThesePeople Jeff and Tim along with a plucky little Potato and a hit music track from our good friend Matt Raetzel. Plus, we had some serious help from our friends Marian and an exotic dancer who prefers to remain nameless. I think. Actually, I’m not sure if she DID want to remain nameless, but I think it’s better to err on the side of caution on this one.

Check out all the SPUD-tacular action here:

ThesePeopleComedy

YouTube

While I was on the aforementioned trip to L.A. ThesePeople stayed VERY busy. FIRST OFF, our good friend Sean “The Englishman” Cameron and I did a crossover with Internet cooking sensation AVERAGE BETTY! You can catch that delicious crossover here:

Average Betty Meets ThesePeople

Sean and I also found the time to shoot a sketch of our own with the help of another friend of ours Joel Slabaugh, who later in the week helped shoot yet ANOTHER sketch with Ryan “My, Robot” Mason. It was like the West Coast Avengers of ThesePeople.

So to recap…there are TWO new sketches in the can. ONE new Internet crossover NOW ONLINE. ONE brand new ThesePeople sketch about a Potato. Not bad for Thanksgiving week.

Enjoy your time off and spend it right there in front of the Internet with the people you really love THESEPEOPLE.

Hugs and kisses,

Jeff

Check out what I have been up to! [Oct. 21st, 2008|09:36 pm]

Hey Corpses and Corpsettes.

Hope you’ve got your Halloween costumes finished or at least decided upon. Today I’m very excited to bring to all of you the SECOND installment of this year’s SHOCKTOBERSKETCH. As you may remember we kicked Shocktobersketch off with “Killing Button” last week which got us around 70,000 views on the old YouTube which is pretty sweet, we’re hoping for just as much success with this week’s offering “WereDouche.”

“WereDouche” tells the story of a man who goes from nice guy to huge douchebag every time there is a full moon. It could be the scariest Halloween sketch we’ve ever done as nothing terrifies me more than the thought of hanging out with a douchebag.

There are a lot of folks to thank on this one, Matt R. came through huge with not only a great performance, but also a KILLER soundtrack, his girlfriend Katy also did a brilliant job testing out her acting chops for the second time with ThesePeople, and our good friend Nick H. (JOLCats and KITE) really steals a couple of scenes. As always this was a team effort of not only the troupe, but also our fabulous behind the scenes team of Steve, whose editing and special effects brought the story to life and Andrew’s grisly horrific mix tied it all together.

Where can you watch this masterpiece so many people gave their lives for?

Why on our recently redone nice shiny website of course:

www.ThesePeopleComedy.com

Or of course on YouTube

YouTube

and any other video site you can think of probably.

We’ll see you guys back here in about a week for the FINALE of Shocktobersketch III. Until then please watch “WereDouche” and “Killing Button” repeatedly and don’t forget to check out “classic” Shocktobersketches like “Polaroid,” “You’re the Dummy.” And “Dead Girls Gone Wild.”

Pleasant Screams,

-Jeff

Hello Fans and Friends!

Today is a very big day for us here at ThesePeopleComedy.com as we have released our (drumroll) 75th sketch! Through losing members, gaining members, people moving and serious injury we have produced and unleashed upon the world 75 bizarre, off-putting, occasionally sexy, and sometimes even funny internet comedy sketches, and hitting the big 7-5 isn’t the only big news this day as we have also launched ThesePeopleComedy.com Version 2.0 a completely new look to our website where you can easily access ALL 75 sketches PLUS lots of extras, and learn all about the fine folks (new and old) that make up ThesePeople.

But now back to the sketch, we here at ThesePeople always believed we need a celebrity best friend if we’re ever going to really blow up and get discovered and this week’s sketch is our attempt to do just that. It’s a little ditty loosely based on a true story entitled “Zach Braff vs. Seth Rogen” starring myself as Zach Braff and one of our newest official members Jeff as Seth Rogen. Our hope is that one (or both) of them sees it, and then wants to either hang out with us, or punch us in the face. So, if you know them, or their cousin, or you went to high school with their ex-girlfriend, PLEASE send this sketch to them on our behalf.

Also I don’t know how many FunnyOrDie users we have out there, but since Judd Apatow kind of runs that site we thought we might have some luck with this sketch if we could get it rated highly there. If you have an account please go rate and comment, it’d be very rad of you. Here is the link:

Funny Or Die

If FunnyOrDie isn’t your style you know you can always see our work on our YouTube page:

ThesePeople YouTubin

ORRRRR did I mention our completely new website?

www.thesepeoplecomedy.com

Coming up next from ThesePeople is our favorite time of year ShockToberSketch 3! THREE Horror Comedy pieces in one month that will make you wet your pants from both laughter and fright. You may not even be sure which made you pee first. Look for the first one coming your way mid-October.

Please let us know what you think of the new site and sketch!

Love u lotz,

Jeff

Would anyone have any interest in providing my mischievous cat a home for a while? He seems to be wearing out his welcome with my mom.
Thanks.

This past weekend was tits!
Friday went really well. Saturday was a really good time. Sunday was for relaxing.

This week has had it's ups and it's downs.
Monday started off great. Had a really great day.

Tuesday I informed my job that I was not going to be able to work the afternoon cook position, after October 8th, when I start school. I had thought that I would be able to pick up some days in the morning during the week and work afternoon cook on the weekends. Basically, they told me that all they had to offer me was 2 days every two weeks. One weekend every two weeks! COME ON! What the hell does seniority get you at this place for Christ sake! I was pretty depressed all the rest of the day at the idea of trying to find some minimum wage paying job to have while I went to school. I came home and sent some applications to some places online. I was feeling like shit, basically. Went and had some late dinner with Tyree and Angelo. Came back by my place to stalk people on the internet.....very slowly.

Today I woke up still in the funk that yesterday left me in. I went to work trying to come up with ideas of how I could "make" my job give me hours. I was working every angle in my head. I was getting ready to resort to being a complete dick to one of the only people I like at my job.
I was talking to a person in a different department and they were asking what was going on with me because they saw that my job had been posted in the break room. I told her about school and my job situation.
When I came back from my lunch I went to the break room to look at the job posting. I was curious to see what it said, I guess. When I went in I saw a job posting but it was for one in housekeeping. I had seen this almost a week ago and had just dismissed it. As I read it I started thinking that it might actually work for me. It said something like 'Full time, Must be flexible and be able to work weekends'. I got a little worried about 'Must be Flexible'.
I called the boss of that department on one of my breaks to see just how flexible I needed to be. She told me it was a full time position mostly in the morning. She told me to go ahead and put my name on the sign up sheet. I did. I'll have to wait a few days to see it I get it but I am pretty confident I will. I have a good relationship with that departments boss and I can't imagine someone with more seniority than myself will sing up for it.
The conversation that I had with her instantly put me into better spirits. I left my job today in a much better mood than I had just 24 hours earlier.
If anything it might actually be too much work.

Anyone looking to see me better do so before October 8th. The way things are looking, I may not be around much. Getting up early and going to bed early. Whatever it takes!
I'll probably be free every other weekend. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Good night/Good morning All!
Keep smiling!

[Current Music |Cast No Shadow - Oasis]

Saturday: I worked on my day off. It wasn't bad. Came home, showered, got ready and headed to Luna with Tyree and Faith. I had a pretty good time. I only wish we had gotten there sooner. The night seemed to fly by super fast. I ended up seeing Roman and Eva there. Unexpected and very cool. I half expected Alice to be there. Maybe next time. Had a really great talk with Eva. It had a lot of heart.

Sunday: After being out pretty late Saturday, I mostly loafed around the house all day. I finally got a shower and was getting ready to call Eric when he called me. We went out to Pontiac for Arts, Beats and Eats. There were a few bands playing we wanted to check out. We got there as Ghost City was playing their last song. That was a let down. I really wanted to check them out. After they were done we went over and talked with Stephen Palmer(formerly of the Fletcher Pratt). Eric is buddies with him so they basically chatted it up for a few minutes while I people watched. After that we went and got some tickets for beer. 10 dollars for 16 tickets. 8 tickets for a beer. So for those of you doing the math at home. Thats a 5 dollar beer. Ugh. Where do these people get off.
After Ghost City was Johnny Headband. They were pretty sweet. I liked them live better than listening to the disc, but now listening to the disc is a lot easier.
Thunderbirds are Now played last. I have always seen this bands name around town and have always been curious to see them. I was thinking to myself Sunday as well 'why have these guys never opened for a band I've went to see!?'. I realized the answer to this was because they kinda suuucked. Pretty big let down.
Went and got a bite to eat on the way home. It was a pretty good night out over all.

Monday: Labor Day: I worked. Another not too bad day. I had all these small plans for things I wanted to get done when I got home today. Stupid little things like cleaning the cats litter. By the time I got home though I was dragging ass. It hit me the second I sat down. I wasn't going to be doing anything! I made a few sandwiches and then just zoned out on the internet most of the night. Wasted days.

I am hoping to hear back from specs tomorrow/today. I think I'm going to call when I wake up just to see whats going on.
I've still got high hopes for my free xbox 360. Every day the mail runs I hope it will be waiting for me when I get home from work or that I'll wake up to it one morning. *fingers crossed*

I watched Notes On A Scandal the other day. I really liked it until the end. The end totally ruined the whole movie for me. I can't wait to get some new stuff from Netflix! I need to start getting more stuff to watch than stuff to copy.

Stay positive everyone!

This has been a mostly busy week.
Work has sucked pretty bad the last few weeks. The new people are super slow and taking forever with everything. I have not been getting out of work till almost 8:30 or later almost every night. It's not been all bad though. I could use the money.
I have to work tomorrow as well, which is supposed to be my day off. This isn't so bad because not only will I have an extra day on the schedule, I will also have the holiday.

Monday: I was off of work. I hung out with Tyree. We tried to go and buy me some shoes and went and saw Superbad. It was really fun. I liked it. Went to the coffeehouse afterwards and met up with Faith. She just started a new job and filled us in on how her first day went. From her last blog it sounds like things are going good.

Tuesday: I worked then headed over to Cassatta's house to finish filming for a sketch I am going to be in. The whole thing was a lot of fun! I'm pretty excited to see it when its all done and edited. Hope I did a good job. Hope they'll have me back for more.

Wednesday: Me and Cassatta went out to Birmingham to try and see "The Ten". It's a movie written and directed by David Wain from Stella and The State. It was going to be a great night until we got to the theatre and it was no longer playing there. Pulling ourselves together we finally decided to head over to Star Southfield and see "Balls of Fury". It wasn't terrible. The way it was edited together seemed really odd though. Lots of scenes just seemed cut off. Cristopher Walken was pretty funny most of the time.

Thursday: I had a totally shitty day at work. My boss was being a cunt all day. I was at work till almost 9 cleaning the oven. I did a pretty good job. Everyone was pretty impressed when they got there today(Friday). I didn't get to clean it as well as I would have liked to though.
I got a call while I was at work yesterday as well. I didn't have a chance to check the message till I left work though. I thought it was a friend calling, but it turned out to be the admissions person from Specs. She was calling to tell me that she had a scholarship that I was eligible for. It's a 2000 dollar scholarship. Which makes a huge difference in what my out of pocket payments would be while I am going to school. She said it's on a first come first serve basis. I called back today but called too late and no one was there to take my call. I left a message for the admissions person. If I get this scholarship I am totally going to take advantage of it and would start school October 8th. This news came at such a great time for how much I have been hating my job lately.

Friday: I left work late. Came home. Talked with my mom a bit. I ended up going to the coffeehouse for about an hour. Eric was there. Talked with him while trying to put photoshop onto my lappy. Now I'm home just relaxing, listening to some tunes.

[Current Music |Everybody Else - Born To Do]

I have been very lazy when it has come to my blogging.
Oddly enough this time it's not for a lack of things to write about, but having too much.
The last few weeks have been going really great. I have been having the time of my life.
Sadly at these times I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Things this good never last for long with me. I am expecting to get into a car accident or for someone to hit my car while its parked any time now.
Lets just hope this is a new direction for me.
I am having the best time.
Meeting some great people.
Getting out to great places.
Surrounding myself with all the right people.....finally.
and I'm such a better person for all of it.
Thanks everyone.
Goodnight Detroit!
